We were having around 6 trillion trees on our planet. Humans cut down half of it. Unfortunately, we cannot restore all of the lost trees because our population grew, and we need space and more farmlands to grow food. But there is a chance to restore up to 1 trillion trees which will help to capture between 750 and 1.000 billion tons of CO2 that is about half of all human CO2 emissions so far. Restoring our forests also achieves to bring a new home to a variety of different animal species, regenerating hectares of land and improving local water quality and helping local families benefiting from our tree planting projects.
